10:30 Nanotechnology: Regulation, Risk and Framework
最初に，座長のMonica氏から同タイトルの講演，次に，Environmental DefenseのWalsh氏らの"A Framework for Responsible Nanotechnology"，Dupontと共同で作ったNano Risk Frameworkの話．いくつかの材料や応用についてパイロットテストを実施しているとのこと．次は，Virginia大学のWardak氏らの"Risk Identification and Assessment Techniques in the Absence of Toxicology Data on Nanomaterials"で，データがなくてリスク評価が困難なときの実際的なスクリーニング手法として，専門家の意見導出（expert opinion elicitation）, 影響図（influence diagrams）, コントロール・バンディング（control banding：厚生労働省の検討会で紹介されている），階層ホログラフィックモデリング法（hierarchical holographic modeling）が紹介されている．最後は，Exponent社のMowat氏らの"Health Risk Assessment of Products Containing Nano-engineered Materials"．
