ニュージーランドの公式VSL

ニュージーランドでは，1991年に初めてWTPに基づいたVOSL公式値が採用された．Miller and Guria (1991)が1989〜1990年に行ったいくつかのアンケート調査に基づき，1991年値で200万NZドルとされた．この値はすべての交通モードで共通に用いられている．その後は，この公式値が，時間あたり平均収入額を指標に現在まで更新され続けている．2006年6月価格で305万NZドル（約2億3000万円）となっている（link）．重傷は当初はVOSLの8％（Guria 1993a*1, 1993b）と推計されていたが，1997〜1998年の新しい調査によって，重傷を防ぐことの価値がVOSLの7〜13％（Guria et al. 2003*2）と推計されたため，1999年の更新からVOSLの10％とされた．軽傷はVOSLの0.4％と推計され（Guria et al.1993a, 1993b），その後の調査でも同様な値であったため現在まで変化していない．1997〜1998年の調査の一部は，Guria et al.
